aloha -

I have what seems to be some fairly standard questions for this forum.
What is the year of my Mercury 25, 2 Stroke with serial #0D053432?
I do believe that it is probably late '80s as that's when I found it, used, no manuals.
And what are the fuel/oil mixture ratios...?
It seems that any Merc Outboard after 1960 can be mixed @ 50/1, I just want to be sure.

aloha,
Karl and the Girls

Re: 25 HPMercury Outboard Year and Mix Question

Hi Karl and Welcome,

Looks to be a 1991 25HP Model (D000750 - D081999)

Fuel oil mix is indeed 50:1

Let us know if you need any help getting her going. Sounds like it may have been sitting for a while... If that is the case, then read on:

web page

Re: 25 HPMercury Outboard Year and Mix Question

Thank you for the come-back...
I picked the motor up virtually 'brand new' when some guys took it and a new zodiac out of the Hilo side (north east side) of the Big Island of Hawaii.
The sea conditions tore the stern out of the 'blow-up boat' and I guess they were lucky to get back in.
They sold the whole shebang... that's when I picked up the motor. I had it as a kicker on my 26' Livesea... and used it, maybe, twice, for a very short period.
We've looked the motor over and it's still brand new... it's been sitting on the big boat which has been a garage queen due to continuing little problems the last of which was a fouled 180 gallon fuel tank.
I've just finished getting my updated flares for the 18' open boat, that I've just finished building and the 25 Merc is mounted on her. I'll be starting the motor, in the yard tomorrow or Friday and hope to get me and my Wife and Girls onto the water with the 18'er about this weekend!
We'll be doing the West (Kona) Side of the Big Island which is somewhat calmer and in the lee of the island.

aloha,
Karl and the Girls
