Coffin,<br />Welcome to the forum. Check all of your connections before you suspect the starter or solenoid. Clean the Battery terminals, both heavy wired connections at the solenoid and at the starter connection. Don't forget to check the mounting bolts for the starter itself, they provide the ground connection for the starter. When you know that the connections are good, then test again. Jump the two heavy solenoid connections. If it doesn't spin, replace or test the starter itself. If the starter does spin, try using the key to start. If it does not spin the starter but you hear the solenoid click, replace the solenoid.

Bypass the solenoid, make sure you have a good battery (fully charged). Make sure you have the right cables and if the starter won't run you'll know where the problem lies.... Take the starter apart and check it.
