25' Sailfish Repower

1988 model<br /><br />I am looking at repowering my 25' Grady with some 150 FICHT. Is anybody running that set up now? I'm looking to become more fuel efficient. Fishing out of Murrells Inlet SC and would like to trim my fuel to consumption to 100-120 gallons. Current 200 Yamaha burn about 170 gallons per trip. Any insight would be helpful. I know the FICHT sucked in the past, but the Frenchies have done wonders with the new ones. I think the old engines had computer problems. I know Evinrude is coming out the E-TEC next year, but they will not have the bigger engines until later. Thanks again for the insight.

Howdy, Tripp.<br /><br />What model are your Yammys? EFI, DFI or carbs?<br /><br />Bombardier is Canadian, not French, and yes, they seem to have solved the problems with the Ficht system.<br /><br />If you are interested in fuel usage, have you considered Johnson 140 4 strokes?<br /><br />Let us know.
