25' Searay Sundancer (1995). Water under stairs after rain...????

Any idea(s) on why we get water in the compartment under the stairs after heavy rain? Trying to determine where this water is coming from and how we might address it?
Thoughts/comments & suggestions welcome

What kind of cover u got on it? Could just be leaking cover and the water flows to that spot , but I guess that would be obvious. Im not real sure of your boats design maybe a cpl pics would help!

That is the bilge area for the cuddy/shower (but you knew that )
I would be running my fingers under the windows and hatches looking for wet spots as well as there is a step drain.
Remove the piece of wood on the step clean out the scupper drain and garbage thats in the step area.

We have the searay cover and I can't imagine that much water would get thru...& why to this spot? boatyard mechanic's thoughts were the water could be coming thru the port lights, anchor chain compartment or perhaps a bilge pump hose that is not working properly...
The water ends up in the compartment under the stairs...& when it's alot of rain, it gets pretty full & then spills onto the floor & carpet gets soaked...soaked

Ok. Will hav my captain (aka husband) check on windows, hatches & step drain...
