My back up motor, a 1972 25 hp elec. start has a cyl with bad rings. Is there a website that posts the parts prices? There are no sealoc parts for this motor, must I go with BRP?

There is also a broken front upper motor moung (behind the transom clamp). Is it worth bothering with to change and how what has to come off to change it?

And where can I get the wiring harness that plugs into the front of the motor for start, choke, ect?
thanks
 Mike

Johnson dot com has parts breakdowns. No prices. You can go aftermarket and save a little, with emphasis on little. They're really very competetively priced for the most part. (no pun intended. ;) )

There is little to no hope of finding that wiring harness. Watch eBay, but don't hold too much hope. They were impossible to find a decade ago. Hard-wire it. Remove the harness from the motor and just run cables and wires straight to the components without the plug inbetween. The hole that the removed plug leaves behind makes a good entry point.
