25hp 4 stroke outboard Mercury 2003

Looking to install a RPM gauge it will be in a 16' pontoon boat for a 25hp 4 stroke outboard Mercury 2003. Any direction would be helpful. From a fast search on youtube they all seem to go with this Tiny Tach digital gauge, any thoughts on that? I think I would prefer a analog gauge...

Check your voltage regulator.
It should have a gray wire.
That is the tach signal wire.
Buy a tach, attach gray wire to tach input.
