25hp 4-stroke stutter

I have a 25HP 4-stroke on a 15' rendova. Im not sure of the exact year but i believe it is a 2002. in the past couple years it has developed a problem where it runs fine until close to full throttle when it starts to skip or stutter in an almost rhythmic fashion. The odd thing is, if i turn i put a load on the alternator (move the motor up and down, turn on the flood lights, etc) it stops. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Today when i went out i accelerated to 70-80% throttle, stayed on plane there for a minute, then went to 100% throttle with almost no stutter for a good 5+ minutes. Then I went back to idle and repeated. This time when i went to 90% throttle it started skipping/stuttering as bad as ever. Im dumbfounded as to what the cause could be.

Check if your belt is loose.
