25hp evinrude kicks when running

hi i have a 25hp evinrude 1979 outboard, it used s sneeze a stall so i made it run a bit rich which stoped it but now it seems to kick a bit when running at all speeds i thought it mite be running out of fuel but it wasant any ideas thanks james

James<br />If this occurs at all speeds while in forward gear but not in neutral, then I suspect your clutch dog lobes are worn and skipping. If it occurs in neutral as well, I would verify compression, check spark, use an inductive timing light to check spark delivery is consistant, and if all that checks out, do a carb rebuild.<br />Good luck

Sounds like a clutch dog. My 30 hp would do it every once in a while till I rebuilt l/u. <br /><br />Does it feel like hitting a stump?
