Alright, have a 1991 johnny 25hp. has great electric start...works everytime. Just wondering how to start this motor if the battery was to go dead. There is a electric primer...i think it has to be moved or so. Any ideas? thanks

You will still need to leave your key on but there is a slot in top of your flywheel for a rope with a knot in it. Put the knot in the slot, wrap the rope around the flywheel, and pull your heart out. Helps if you have made your emergency rope ahead of time and put some sort of handle on it.

Yep, you need to move the red handle to opposite the primer pump, its other position, this will set it to manual prime mode. Once in this position pumping the bulb once or twice will feed gas into the intake (leaf plate area) and ready the motor for manual starting.
