Hi There. Although I don't know the model number (and therefore age) of this engine i know it is the same as this 25hp two stroke http://www.marinepower.com/products/single/2006$$$EN-$-MA$2S$F250-2_5$MA2S_25

The boat is nearly impossible to turn at speed and i've been investigating the problem - most of my leads came from this forum!

The boat is pretty heavy (FunYak 45C) and the recommended horsepower is 50. The boat belongs to my local sailing club and it always struggles to get on the plane. It is more often than not driven hard in incompetent hands and I think this is the root cause of the problem. I would appreciate your feedback on my thoughts! Because the motor is not powerful enough to move the boat properly I think it compresses its lower mount which has since worn. This is reinforced by two facts - firstly the boat turns easily when at high speed and is put into neutral and also the motor is seen to tilt in a large amount when power is applied.

What do you guys think? Am I right in thinking that a proper sized motor the best solution?

Sorry this is such a marathon - thanks for your time.
