25hp Merc Powerhead compatibility -

How can it be determined if a 25hp Merc Powerhead from a 1986 (SN: OB102535) will be a direct swap for my (seized) 1987 Powerhead (SN: OB140818)

It will fit. If you want to make sure look up the powerhead base gasket #
