I plan to install an electric choke/plate solenoid assembly. Is there any major problem with reusing the old gasket? Also,I would appreciate some explanation of how this thing works. I haven't looked inside and am not sure exactly what goes where. Any special problems to expect? Thanks, Rick

hey rick,

i don't know much about the electric choke on the 25. (i used to have one without ele choke). but i do know its not a good idea to use gaskets over again, especially around the carb area. you might suck in air and have problems with idle or at wot. i personally would not start the job if i did'nt have all new seals, gaskets, or o-rings,
its not fun going to your suplyier in the thick of things

chris

Forgot to mention some details. 1993;SN:OD278205. Tiller converted to a remote but solenoid never installed. Other than the gasket only two wiring connections are necessary. Purchasing the gasket requires another 40 bucks because it's only included in a kit I don't need. Clever marketing I suppose. If need be I should be able to make a gasket.

making a gasket is a good choice....just keep it same thickness and as close to the same material as possible, and you should have no problems

its basically a solenoid to remotely activate your choke....in or out ...simple as that.
sorry i got away with just the gasket and not both problems together....dont sweat it, it'll work out fine it isnt hard to put in !

Hi BT, Installation went well and it works great but I still don't see how. The solenoid pushes nothing connected to the choke, in or out. What this thing is doing is a puzzle. Magnetism must be involved somehow. Any ideas?
