25hp SS/ on a 14' Aluminum Utility- Best Prop Question

I just bought a 1996 25hp short shaft. I have it on a 14' aluminum utility that's had a couple padded seats and a small deck installed. Boat is pretty light but with 2 people and gear we're probably looking at 700lbs.

I had to raise the trim pin up to it's 2nd highest setting or else the stern drove itself into the water at the top end. Is this normal?

Also, it needs a new or prop or a rebuild. Right now is a 13" pitch (which I assume may be stock). Believe it or not the boat is a little slow on the hole shot and looses complete power during a moderately sharp turn.

Should I stick with the 13" and have it rebuilt or should I just get a new prop with an alternate pitch?

Thanks

Get your set up in order first. Make the Anti vent plate inline with the bottom of the hull, on level and parrallel.

Then we need gps speed, RPM, and WOT range. With out these numbers it is anyones guess whats right and wrong.

Also do a search, and see if anyone else has posted any other relivent info on props on 25 hp motors. (I know i posted what i thought would be a helpful review to people lookin for this information)

Normally trimming in (prop closer to the boat)would make the boat lay down flat and tend to bury the bow (front)Trimming out would tend to raise the bow, boat would get up on the water better and run faster.
It may be more cost effective to get a new prop.Though if you got your prop repaired you would have better test run numbers to help select a better prop.
You need a tach,Tinytrach is about$47 and easy to install.A gps for speed.
with the prop size, max rpm and speed you can tell better how your setup is
working.
