I have Mercury 25XD SN#6482962. The bearing carrier has 99905 on it. Replacements in diagrams show a different number, 99906. The manual shows a thrust hub, maybe 85128A1, which is used to remove the bearing carrier by placing on the shaft in reverse and turning the shaft with the propeller. All the new parts I have found shown on the web are different. Diagrams list a different part number. I have seen the part shown from a seller outside the US that might be correct with number 85128A1, but some 85128A1 parts look different. The newer thrust hubs are not cut to fit into notches on the 99905.

Please suggest a source for the original part or a wrench since the replacement thrust hubs have changed. And to answer the obvious, No, the thrust hub I have is not the one shown in the manual.

Also, if I am looking at this the wrong way, any guidance will be appreciated.

Do you have your original thrust washer? There was a design change in the later lowers that had to have a separate tool.

No, sir. The one I have does not look like the one in the manual. The bearing carrier does, though.

Ok the original thrust washer is 2 pieces you have to pop those pieces apart. There is Usually writing on it. If You Don't have that you can make the tool out of a pipe. Grind Notches in It to match the carrier make It Longer than the prop shaft. The carrier has left hand Threads.
