Hey Don, starting a new thread - the old one was getting pretty long. I raised the drive and tried to activate the tilt pressure plate and nothing happened. This leads me to believe the problem is in the worm gear mechinizim somewhere. Before I remove that unit and take it apart, do you have any other suggestions for me to try?

Nope, if it runs and the end doesn't extend, something inside is bad.

Re: 275 lift problem

Ran into yet another problem in removing the tilt mechanism. Got everything disconnected, removed the two mounting bolts and the unit moves freely in the shaft hole. However, when I try to remove it completely, it stops at the point where the pressure plate hits the shaft hole. It seems like the pressure plate is larger than the shaft hole and I am at a loss as to how to proceed. Because of the very limited working space, it will be extremely difficult to get that pressure place off Is there some trick to this, or do you have any suggestions?

d:) Hey Don, here is the latest. I loaded up the shaft with WD-40 and it slipped right out. Here comes the weird part, when I took it apart I found that the worm gear was missing altogether and they had the brake nut screwed down against the worm screw. No wonder it would not work. At least I know now what needs to be done. Can you give me the part numbers of the worm gear and the worm screw and maybe even a price estimate?

8) Don, I just can't thank you enough for all your help in this. Just one more question and then I will stop being such a pest. Should the catch be locked in only the reverse throttle position, or also in the forward throttle position as well?

Should only be in Reverse that it locks down.
