275 outdrive

1986 Volvo penta 275 outdrive, I was told to put sae 90 gear lube in . Is this correct. If not what type

Don't think that is right. Mine takes engine oil.

If it is a Duo Prop it takes 90W if it is a single prop it takes 30WT

Perfect, I thought so , it's only a single prop, so 30wt engine oil is it. Thank you sir .

Is it a 275 or a 270 . Do you have an inboard motor or a out board motor

Inboard aq125a engine with 275 outdrive already put 10w 30 in on advice from another. I'm I good still? Thank you

Now I have it going , I have another question, I have started to here a high sqweek like a belt but worse. I just replaced the alternater is it possible that when tightening the belt and after use could it be the water pump? Also alternater gets hot before the engine does.the pulley on the water pump has a little wiggle by hand but not much. The sound get louder and worse when reving up the engine. That's new and loud. Thanks for any ideas?and of course you're time .

Keep a close eye on the temp gauge. Drive it like ya stole it. Problem will become more apparent.
