280 outdrive

I have a bayliner contessa with a 260a/280aq outdrive with electric tilt. Is a 280aq outdrive with power tilt the same?can I just remove the hydraulic cylinders and use the outdrive

I think the mid section is different. however the gearbox and lower unit are the same.
