96 mariner 225efi. rather abrupt onset of failure of 2cycle oil to transfer from onboard reserve tank to engine mounted tank. I have inspected and tried every work around. With onboard tank connected to the crank case fitting, engine running around 2500 RPM not a drop of oil leaves the output port on the 3 gal tank. I can blow on the air input side and oil flow very easily. I connect to the engine mounted tank and with top off of tank I have to blow till my eyeballs pop out but oil will flow into the tank. This is a pretty simple system but I am missing something! Should I remove the ck valve on the engine block and ck that? Or is there something FUBAR with the oil pick up assembly in the 3gal tank? I did clean the screen with B12 and Brake cleaner and it appears clean as a whistle. Thanks for any help. My sanity is in your hands!

Crankcase compression puts pressure on the main oil tank.-----Remove fitting on crankcase.------Crank over with the key.----Are there any positive pressure pulses.??----Motor still run OK ?----Compression test done ?-----Cap on the main oil tank in good condition and sealing properly.

Either pulse fitting stuck open, clamp in cowl has line pinched or hole in line allow crankcase pressure to escape.

To Racerone: Yes to all your questions.
To GA: Checking your reference ASAP
To:Faztbullet: "Pulse fitting" = ck valve on engine block?
To All: Thank you for responding. And how can Murphy screw up such a simple system? Oh yea...it's a boat! Ha!

Yes check valve on block that supply's crankcase pressure..if stuck the pressure will enter hose but return to block on next cycle. Valve has to shut to hold the pressure in hose.

Thank you to everyone who responded. No longer nuts, just crazy...I own a boat! Problem resolved. Engine well lubricated now and so am I! Check valve on the engine block the culprit. When I pulled it off you could see day light straight through. It's always, well a lot anyway, the simple things that get overlooked.
Regards!
