I've got a few 2 cyl motors lying around and picked a 1982 60hp to mechanically restore. runs perfectly now, but question on the manual tilt mechanism: i'm in shallow water, and was wondering if there's a way to get it tilted half way up for cruising in a 2' deep channel. it only tilts up or down, nothing in between, and taking the tilt pin out on the fly and adjusting just isn't practical. anyone know of a fix here since it doesn't have shallow water drive? i only see 2 options at the moment: jam a piece of wood in the bracket to keep it tilted, or buy the trim assist cylinder. does anyone know if the assist cylinder will let me keep the motor in a tilted RUNNING position for shallow water, or does it just go up/down?

I believe it just helps tilt the motor, cant remeber ever seeing one that still works though. All the ones around here have t-n-t or power tilt.
