2hp Honda prop size question

I have a 22ft racing catamaran sailboat that goes about 10 mph with my Honda 2hp on the "start" setting. My problem is that opening up the throttle adds maybe 4 mph. The prop just spins like a bicyclist in low gear on a flat road. So I think I need to change the pitch. Where can I get a higher pitch prop, and what pitch do you think would be best? My guess is that the motor should be able to make the boat go about 20 mph. Thanks for any advice.

Are you serious it will already push that boat at 14mph? That's a pretty good accomplishment for a 2hp motor. It sounds a bit like it's ventilating when you open up the throttle. Try lowering the motor another notch and see if that helps your current setup.

You can find props here on iboats http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/.

Re: 2hp Honda prop size question

Yes, I think there are no prop options.
Does anyone have an idea about what prop I might adapt to my tiny Honda?

I think it would be great to go 20 mph and get "there" quickly, but the real reason for working on this idea is that it would be very "green" to show that a 22 X 18ft craft (which looks pretty darn big) can be pushed along so efficiently and quickly. It is a wave piercer so if I can get the Honda right it would basically be able to maintain 20 mph or more in any conditions by motoring or sailing and be a pretty good sized boat. That might get people to start rethinking the 3-5MPG designs that are half as big.
