Today I took my Larson out for the first time this season, and the 2nd time since I restored it. Last season, the maiden voyage went less than spectacular, and ended in me having to tow the boat in, and crack into the lower unit.

I'm proud to say that this time I was able to get to the launch and load up the proper way (i.e. no "manual" kicker ;) ) Reverse still doesn't want to function properly, almost feels like it doesn't want to fully engage reverse. But, we did manage to run around the lake a good bit, and get the boat loaded back up.

She seemed to leap out of the hole, and pull very strong. I measured 35mph on the GPS, but I didn't push the throttle wide open, due to the tach not working. We did a number of back-and-forth laps across the lake, at varying speeds. I also idled it, both in and out of gear, for about 40 minutes or more. She only stalled out once at idle (bulb was spongy). One other time it did fade down and stall out, from being on plane. This was due to my forgetting to vent the tank.

Other than the tach being on the fritz, the l/u reverse issues, and a bit of water sneaking in through the hull/deck joint on the port side (starboard was dry, both were wet on the maiden voyage, need to assault with a tube of 5200), the boat ran great.

Oh, and I ALMOST joined the "plug club" today  Remembered just before we backed the boat into the water.

congratulations! Sweet feeling isn't it? Nothing like being out there in something you did. Nothing! It makes all the crap you go through worth it IMHO. So again, a sincere congratulations!
