3.0 carburetor rebuild

Im thinking i need carb serviced marina told me it would be about $325 is that reasonable or should i attempt it .Is it difficult thanks for any and all advice.1987 glastron X-19 3.0 mercruiser it only rpms at 3800-4000 timing is good prop is 14x19 so it should be okay i guess

for that price you can buy new one if it is a rodchester 2 barrell there around 200 new if you know how to rebuild it the kit is cheap and takes about an hour just depends on you'r skills. for 325 there ripping you a new one

I just rebuilt mine - wasn't difficult at all (never even attempted anything like this before). A kit was $14 and a bucket of carb cleaner (in a can like a gallon of paint, with a dip tray inside) cost me $20. I spent way more than an hour, but mostly because I was having fun reading up on carbs and how/what they do. Pretty rewarding to finish (now off to the rest of my trouble - er - boat).
