For starters my 3.0 OMC was cutting out as soon as you gave it ANY throttle... so i rebuilt the carb myself and discovered it has a REALLY cruddy accelerator pump in it, i reasembled it figuring that this would fix my problem... WRONG... it is still doing the same thing so i checked out the ignitions system (most of which was recently replaced) and it all looked good, then i checked the fuel filter on the pump.. this is where it gets a little iffy when i took the bowl off the top of it no fuel came out so to check the pump i took the line off the carb to see if anything came out when i turned it over ?!?! fuel came out then !!! so i'm not sure if i have a bad pump or if there is another problem.. timing has crossed my mind

all i know is that when you try to get it off idle it will cut out till it stalls 100% of the time under a load and more often than not in neutral

i apreciate ANY help.. it has me stumped.. thanks

Plug wires break down at higher rpm, as well as coils.
Did you set the points with a dwell meter? Gapping them just won't cut it.
How about the timing, and don't forget about the advance timing.
