First off, thanks for all the great info, you folks are part of what makes America great. I have been reading here for a long time, this is my first post. Instead of a new topic, this one seems to deal with my similar problem, so here goes...
I recently bought a 1986 mercruiser 140. I broke the fuel line, same as the op in this thread. I will try to post pics. My fuel pump points up, NOT down. I think I found the right replacement part, but I am hoping someone may be able to help confirm. When I went to remove it, I realized gas was going to spill from the pump until I got the new line attached, so I think I need to have it in hand first, ready to go. Or maybe I could get a plug to screw on in the meantime to stop the gas from dripping? I think the part number is 32-147971.
Any advice ?
Also, will the new OEM gas line have a fresh brass fitting (one NOT stripped out to round...)? Should I get a gas line specific wrench ? Thanks again in advance.
