Ok starter replacement easy easy task..... So I thought. I get the starter off and look for a delco remy replacement and all I can find is 11 teeth replacement this is according to the volvo penta store parts breakdown. We'll the starter that is on there is 9 teeth so my question is will 11 teeth work. I would think if you change that it wouldn't fit the flywheel? Also according to the number that's on the starter that I have it's suppose to have 11 teeth so I'm completely dumbfounded?

Ayuh,.... Tooth count rarely to never matters on a Chevy starter,....

There's really only two choices,...
The straight across bolt pattern, for the 12" flywheel, 'n the staggered bolt pattern, for the 14" flywheel,....

If yer take-off starter is the Big ole style starter, go to the permanent magnet style, at 1/2 the weight, 'n More power,...

Ok I didn't know the teeth count didn't matter and I'm going with the ultra lite high torque it's only 119.00 that's surprising. Thanks for the info... And it's straight across bolt pattern one long bolt and one short.
