3.0 Mercruiser head blots

Can anyone tell me if it is reccomended to replace the head bolts when re-installing a head on a 3.0 4cyl? Also what is the final torque ft lbs? Thanks!

to 90lbs in 3 steps, retorque after 20 hrs.
the head bolts that follow the straight portion of the valve cover gasket9,5,1,4,8,
the bolts with the curved portions 10,6,2,3,7

reccommended yes necessary ...I dont think so. I reused mine but they were in good shape not rusty. They are yield to to tighten bolts . So in reality you should use new ones which would be the right answer. I think they are like 5 dollars a bolt new

good possibility they are stretch bolts if so yes they need to be replaced

Neither the service manual nor the parts listing say anything about replacing the head bolts. Reusing them is ok....
