3.0 omc cobra questions

Hi i bought a 16.5' cadorette bowrider last year,what rpms/mph should i expect from this setup?It now has a 13/19 prop revs 4250 and 35mph,is this rpm high enough (seems low to me),it would be nice to go a bit faster too,or am i expecting to much from a 3litre?thanks steve

Steve...that engine should be between 4200-4600 so you are in the range although at the bottom end. The only way to get a little more top end would be to go to a 21 pitch but you will find it sluggish, lose some of your hole shot and WOT RPM will drop on the other hand if you go down to a 17 prop you will increase your hole shot, your WOT RPM will probably go up to around 4600 but you will lose a bit off your top end speed. You may find you are propped right just where you are.
