Took my carb apart to check things out. Rebuilt it last Fall. In the accelerator pump there is a small bb under the screen. I have heard that is is not required and may improve performance of the pump if left out. Is this ture?

I am putting it back together and want to know if I should put it back. Thanks.

Don't believe everything you read. Some carbs use it, some don't. With the limited information about your engine and carb there is no way of knowing your carb has one or not.

85' 3.0, 140.

It has one now. I was asking if I should remove it on reassembly?

Leave the check ball out and try it. I doubt the accelerator pump will work at all.

^^^ I'm with Don. The (check) ball is to keep fuel from flowing back into the bowl. They put the ball in there for a reason.
