3.0 starting out water but not in the water.

before i leave the house i start the boat . but by the time i put it in the water it acts like i have dead batt...s it just clicks so i pulled the out the water and it startes out the water. ???????????

if your talking about the engine won't crank, but if you jostle the boat a bit it will crank... and if it's intermitent. Then you have either a loose wire or a bad wire in the starting system someplace.

Agree.

No good reason to start out of water but not in water. Only difference is supplied water to outdrive and potentially angle of boat in water vs trailer.

Ditto - start at the battery and clean all the connections untilyou get to the starter, then go back and do the same thing on the negative side.
