My friend has a shot 90's 3.0L merc that he wants to repower with an omc 3.0L.
The merc has a good manifold and riser but is raw water cooled. The omc is fresh water cooled but has a bad riser.
The obvious solution to me would be to swap the omc riser with the merc but he tells me that there is no inlet on the merc riser to make it possible to keep the omc manifold freshwater cooled.

Does merc offer a riser with and inlet or is there some other way to keep buddies manifold freshwater cooled?

He says omc stuff is hard to find and pricey.

You will need to use the OMC exhaust stuff, then merc stuff won't fit the omc stuff. The engines are the same, just the stuff bolted to them is diff.

Yes but its bolting up to an alpha 2 so its going to be a bit of a franken motor.

The real question I guess if whether or not merc makes a riser with an inlet so that the manifold can blocked with a solid gasket and fresh water cooled as it is on an omc.
