3.0L distributor bolt/clamp

Can't seem to access distributor bolt on my 1986 3.0L Mercruiser/Alpha One. Do I have to remove my fuel pump? Oh, I think I just answered my own question...just remove the top filter section of the fuel pump, correct? Thanks

No don't remove.It takes a special angled wrench.Luckily I have an off brand cheepie that was bent and I found in a flea market and bought for a quarter. Find a cheap wrench and heat and bend it.Jerry

They are widely available; they attach to a ratchet, due to GM making hei dist, and slamming it against the firewall.
