3.0l merc bogs

merc 3.0 bogs while i give it full throttle on the water if i let of two or three times and ease into it its fine. just went from 17p to 21p prop i guess its putting a little more strain on it. could possibly the float need adjusting in carb just rebuilt 8 months ago. new plugs and rotor cap and points alson.

17 to 21p is one hell of a jump. Was it really running 800RPM too fast?

Absent the prop pitch change, your float level will not bog it down when you punch it, clogged jets and/or fuel/air mixture will. I would check you mixture screw setting and reset it according to your manual. I just can't get over the prop pitch change as a likely culprit..

If he kept his original 17...he could swap. and eliminate that possibility.

I agree...17, to 21, is a quantum leap!

What was your rpms at WOT before you swapped props,..??
How about Now,..??
