I posted this once before but it looks like it has disappeared with the issues they have been having. I have a 1983 3.0L, serial number starting with 497. I have replaced all of the ignition components, ground all of the valves and verified good compression. It seems to be running good, and starts just fine when cold. Once I drive it around for awhile if I shut it off, and then start it right away there is no issues and fires right back up. If I let it sit for awhile, and then go to start it I have to hold it wide open to get it to fire. Seems to me that this means that it is rich or flooded. I have the idle mixture screws at 1 1/4 turns and have gone through the carb. I have read that it could be because of the float bowl getting hot and bubbling over. This would make sense. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Or is there something else I should be looking for? Thanks.

I see your issue as the float leave not being set correctly, needle seat or valve is leaking. Check that first, I don't see a boiling issue
