Evening all.

jistvjadctjr engine running and noticed that when I set the control to neutral the idle hangs ar 1500rpm sometimes 1200 rpm and if I push the cables towards the carb the idle drops to where it stalls, so I adjusted the stop screw with the spring on the carb clockwise but that just keeps the idle up.

am I right in that the cable needs adjustment and some oreload adding ? Is it just a case of adjusting the barrel on the cable ? If so how many turns at a time and in which direction ?

please exchange me telling my kid off for interrupting me in this video

Yes to both

Disconnect cable from the carb
Start motor and let it warm up

After warmed up, adjust carb idle screw to where it needs to be, keeping pressure holding it closed if needed

Idle at correct rpm, adjust throttle cable so it will just fit back on carb and barrel post. Then turn barrel one more turn away from carb so there is a bit a pressure holding it closed
