3/4 Charged ??

My deep cycle battery will only charge to 3/4 capacity while the cranking battery charges to 100% in minutes. Do you think one of the plates in the battery has broken loose? Or since I use the Minn Kota motor in short periods only I have left the battery with a "memory" for the lower capacity like a cell phone battery? Thanks for any tips that will help me.

How old is your battery?

I would take your battery to your local auto parts store and have them load test it.

Sounds like a dead cell.

I don`t believe a lead acid battery has a memory.

Thats good advice. Have it load tested even if its new. Wouldn't be the first bad new battery.

also deep cycles take longer to charge. does your charge have a deep cycle setting on it. they charge a little differently than starting batteries.
