Re: 3/4 inch plywood or 3 pieces of 1/4 in plywood???????
I'd say use the pre-made 3/4 unless you are trying to form a curved component then three 1/4 laminated would be the only practical way.Reason I believe 3/4 from factory would be superior is due to factories use of controlled conditions, temperature and humidity, texture of bonding surface, heat and clamping pressure all controlled while adhesives set ect.. is probably going to out do anything us average guys could perform even with great care and modern chemicals. How would you clamp uniformly three sheets of plywood without driving screws ect..? just seems like a waste of money, time and labor to try and make something that you can buy already to go.Sure you could laminate together three sheets of 1/4 in. marine ply and end up with a total of nine ply in the laminate and the already made 3/4 in. marine ply is only seven ply but unless your adhesives and control over bonding are equal to or better than a factory your not gaining anything and your definitely losing money in the attempt unless you already have the 1/4 ply and the adhesives. What application are you considering this for?
