I have a 1975 18' Mark Twain with a 165 hp I/O. I was out on the lake this last weekend and somehow lost about a 1/4 off one of my blades. I had just put this prop back on after the prop shop had rebuilt it for me. I know what I hit the first time (a log
), but this last time I do not recall hitting anything at all, deep lake no rocks. I am thinking that the prop shop didn't do a very good job
. So now I am just going to go with a new propeller. But I was wondering if getting a 4 blade prop would serve my needs better than a 3 blade. All we do is go tubing, skiing, and wakeboarding. No real need for speed. At this time I am using a big elephant eared 15 x 21 prop. I have no problems pulling out a fat boy out of the water on one ski, so I am good there.

But one thing that I do have a problem with is maintaining my speed. Will a 4 blade give me better control over this?

Sorry for the long post.
