So I was looking to decarb the motor so i popped the top and was familiarizing myself with this foreign object known as an outboard (be easy on me I'm a network engineer not a mechanic) and thought that I was looking at three separate carbs so my question is, is this right? normal? How many barrels do the carbs they "normally" have? BTW, 1991 Evinrude "xp" 150HP. OK, thanks dudes.

so a boat really is a hole in the water that you pour money into? That seems as though it would be expensive to repair, thanks man!

Your motor will have 3 two barrel carbs. Yep, tri power. 1 barrel for each cylinder. Neat, huh?

Not near as confusing as the V6 loopers that have 4 carb assemblys (2, two bbl and 2, one bbl).

Re: 3 carbs?

Which one? Your crossflow or the looper? Lol!

Your crossflow is one of the simplest designs out there. Very easy, no problem. And the XP and GT's are some of the best V6 crossflows.

The good news is that the linkage is not progressive or anything wierd. The carbs are very basic 2 barrel carbs on a V6. I venturi per cylinder.

Just let us know if you need any help. There's some really good folks here.
