3 hp viking

I have a 3 hp viking and it needs a coil the model # is:c166 serial is:0001363 if you have some info on this motor contact me.

Welcome to the forum!<br />Try your local Johnson/Evinrude dealer. My 5HP Viking uses the same coil as a 6hp Johnson. Show the coil to someone at the dealer and they should be able to find a replacement.<br />Eric

for example your viking takes the same as 6 hp motor but did it have to be a certain year ?

Early Vikings were made by Gale, a division of OMC that also made Johnson and Evinrude outboards. Then around 1964 they switched suppliers to Chrysler.<br /><br />I can't seem to place that model number. Is the engine a 2 cylinder or 1 cylinder model? Any hints to the age? Any hope of a photo? How many "Ends" on the igntion coil, 2 or 3?
