3 inch exhaust big enough?

I have a wellcraft boat with a 5.7 mercruiser and am wanting to put exhaust on it. Will 3 inch pipe be good or do i need 4 inch

Ayuh,... 4" is pretty much the Standard for Thru-hulls nowadays...

The standard is 3 inch for the 350s. They use 4 on the big blocks.:)

I gotta agree with Bond-O, most of what i see is pretty much 4"... including my own smallblock. For one thing, the vast majority of aftermarket exhaust parts are 4" as are the mrec risers....

It all depends on the sound. What size are your risers? Chances are they are 4in already so Ya gotta stick with 4in anyways. I know when I did my Corsa Q&Q It all came in 4in.

i know it will be big enough but will the sound be better with 4 inch
What size risers do you have?

I've got 3 inchers on the Checkmate with 3 inch thru-hulls and it runs and sounds great without being loud at all.
