I'm hoping some one can help me make a decision on a 3 or 4 blade prop. I have a 2001 19' blue water with a 4.3 volvo penta sx. The prop I have now is a slightly damaged 14 1/2 x 19 3 blade. I was under the impression that a 4 blade will help pull a skier better, is this correct? If so what pitch should I look for? Thank in advance

MerCruiser makes a 4-blade aluminum Alpha prop that will fit your drive with the appropriate hub kit. I'd go with the 18p. Waterski teams like Mirage props if you're looking for a stainless. They're 3-blades with a lot of blade surface area.
