3 Wire OMC Kill Switch

Hey I'm re wiring my boat with a 97 Evinrude 130 on it. Anytime something broke the just hacked the wiring to take it out of the system. Anyways I have a 3 wire kill switch and Ive searched the net and only found wiring for a 2 wire kill switch. Whats the reason for 3 wires? It has 2 Black/Yellow wires and a black. Can I just put a 2 wire kill switch across the M terminals and be done with it? Thanks!

Connect one of the Y/B to the Y/B in the harness going to the motor. The other Y/B goes to the switch. Black to ground.

I ordered a new kill switch off the net. My two Black/yellow wires of course have continuity but they have continuity to the black wire as well until I hit the kill switch. Wouldnt that be backwards? Wrong switch??

I assumed it was press to kill the engine...is it supposed to have a lanyard to hold the button in to run??

Think about it.... Nothing connected to kill switch, engine running, you fall out, boat just keeps on going.

Lanyard and clip connected to the kill switch, other end of lanyard connected to you. You fall out, lanyard is yanked off kill switch, engine stops.

AGAIN - iboats saves me.....Three wire kill switch. Complete rewire can move forward.

I have the same problem and am curious before I cut anything. From boat 2 blk/yellow and a black. I'm assuming black is ground. Kill switch has white and black. I also have a kill switch with 4 prongs but thought 2 wire might be better. So black to black? Can I connect both yellow/black to the white wire? Or How do I connect this switch?
