30 hp carburater onto 25 hp engine

I have a 1998 johnson 25 hp in great shape and would like to put on 30 hp carbs. Anyone done this? When I look at parts manuals it looks like I may have to put on different intake manifold. How do the reeds hold up when you do this. Looks like the carb is the only thing different on the powerheads from 25 to 30 hp. Just looking to get a little more out of motor instead of different motor. Thanks for any info

IMHO you should just leave well enough alone. For the expense of doing this you won't gain that much in speed.
