302 intake extra part

working on my 302 89.i had put the intake menifold on but i have a plate left over.is it belong on the bottom of the intake?

Ayuh,... Got a Picture,... A Plate is a rather vague term ain't it,..??

it about 4"x5" whit two hole and two flat had bolt.I think it was on the bottom of the intake.
Am i right?

I`ll take a guess and say it`s a heat shield that went under the carb area to protect the oil from the exaust crossover heat.

I don't know but it sound like it.I gues i have to take it of.New gasket set
