302 V8, rough idle

Merc, 188 V8, 302 1970's. New plugs, cap, rotor, wires good , new fuel filt. will idle at 650rpm, but slight rough idle, thoughts on adust idle screws Holley 2bl carb. thoughts on adjust of timming to factory spec or just under spec. to smooth out.

Motor is old, and has worn parts. same for my 86 4.3L. reccomended idle IMO is low. woudln't hurt to bring it up a few rpm's 700-750 maybe.

Might want to check if that distributor still has old points style ign and replace points and set dwell proper.
