I decided to to go ahead and spend a few bucks to repaint the old vinyl interior of my runabout. The vinyl is very old (1989), and is getting faded badly, but it is still pliable, and soft. Just really stained and faded. Anyway, I got about half of my cushions painted now, and something just dawned on me. How do I protect it with some kind of cleaner/protectant?

I spent good money on a 32oz bottle of 303 Aerospace Protectant, but can I use this stuff on painted vinyl, without damaging the paint?

I've actually emailed them a couple times now, with no response. So, I am asking numerous others on differant forums, including this one.

It just seems strange that no one has any idea if this stuff is safe on vinyl paint, when we all know a lot of people paint the old vinyl now. And no one has tried it yet? Seems odd. Maybe I just ahven't found the right thread on here. haha

UPDATE EDIT:

They did get back to me this morning, and basically said the same thing as stated above. Test it on a small area. I suppose I can do that. My concern is I may test it on a small area for a couple days and it seems fine. So, I then apply it to everything. Only to find out 6 months down the road it destroys my vinyl. I suppose they ahve not tested it on vinyl paint, so they have no answer on its long term affects.
