when cruising down the lake at any speed my boat just looses power but can just go back to idle and slow down and then take off and fine sometimes for awhile sometimes not very long any ideas to check would be awsome

check for fuel starvation.check valve in tank line nor fuel filter etc.also mine had a plugged vent with mud wasp.

Ayuh,.... Start by examinin' the Contents for the fuel filter for water, 'n crud, 'n install a new filter,....

Is the motor carbed, or Efi,..??

we replaced fuel line and fuel filters but need to check fuel vent but believe its ok cause sometimes when filling it up it comes out it.

and is carb

fuel filter looked good and his vent is clean he has removed his check valve on gas tank and gas tank pick up if that matters to this is for a friend of mine boat been doing this for awhile

Next thing is to check fuel pump pressure, and as Bondo asked, is this carb, efi and what year?

thanks will try to check that but why would it only do it for a second just week maybe ?or could there be dirt on a jet in carb maybe

Could be dirt, could be a weak pump but need to test to see what is going on, otherwise were throwing parts at it

90 with a 4 barral on it and he replaced the fuel pump last year

Ayuh,...... I think they were still usin' the Quadra-Jet then, the Weber came out shortly after,.....
