30hp johnson smokes after extended idle

The nozzle well gasket was placed on the card a month ago. Starts fine runs wot great, but after extended trolling or idle speeds (manatee zones, thump thump) it smokes like crazy for a 1/4 mile after restart.

after looking at a few diagrams I've noticed the Well gasket in the pics is a O-ring looking gasket. The one in my carb is a washer looking paperish gasket with interior notches.
Would this make a difference?

Also below is a pic of the slow speed needle valve, I don't recall it being in so far but I took it to a shop cause I got tired of beating myhead against the wall when the original well gasket disapeared after a winter of storage, lol

Yeah, you do have to do a lot of idle speed running there in Homosassa, don't you? Don't beat your self up over that smoke. ALL of the oil that you put in the gas goes through the engine. Some is burned (makes smoke) and the rest goes out the exhaust. At slow speeds, there isn't enough heat to burn off the exhaust, so it gets all oily inside. Then later, you generate some heat and burn that stuff off, and it smokes.

If you want minimize the smoke, use 100% synthetic TCW-3 oil. It also is bio-degradeable, which the manatees appreciate. And make sure your slow speed needle is set as lean as possible without sneezing.

I dunno, I can't tell by listening to videos. But my immediate impression is it has a weak cylinder. May be wrong.

Attached pic is of top cylinder, bottom cylinder plug was covered in oil so the pic was identical except pressure was a pinch lower

Wow thats pretty fouled, are they the right plugs? Ive the 35 and they run L77JC4 with a central electrode that sticks out and a side extended earth
Are you running it at 50/1mix?

8oz on 3gal of fuel, those plugs were sooo clean b4 I ran it, LOL I understand there should be oil build up, but as you can see it looks a little excessive. I run champ QL77JC4.. I just threw in the NGK's for the day

So is it only the bottom plug getting oiled over?

Any other thoughts b4 I set it back in the water?
I think I'm gonna take a timing light so I can observe the spark, pretty sure it's not a coil issue(but can't rule it out). In the video above it sounds like it misses at low speed

Adjusting slow speed mix seemed to clean up the smoke and wet build up on the plugs.
but it runs fast (faster then i'd like to engage the drive) and idles inconsistently. I'm gonna go threw the synchronizing part of the manual again.
