Welcome!<br /><br />Personally I don't find it's worth while. It only puts out 10 amps at full throttle, and nothing until about 2000RPMs. A larger battery (if needed) and charging on shore is often the simpler solution.<br />It's important to get the belt as well since it's expensive for what it is. I don't see any right now but they pop up on ebay frequently. Use these search terms:<br />(evinrude, johnson) generator<br />All the selectric 40hp outboards had them so they're very common. You can use the setup from a 28, 33 or 40hp engine '60-'71 or so.
