35 hp Johnson 1976 Question about # of coils

I recently bought this motor that wasn't running and when I removed the flywheel, I noticed that it had only one coil in with the points and condensors. Can it start with only one coil or do I need to get another one to make it start? I am also not sure how to adjust the new set of points that I bought so one is closed while the other is open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It has one charge coil, common for both sets of points/condensers. The other coil will be for battery charging.

Your ignition system is called a low-tension magneto. The coil you see under the flywheel is called a drive coil. It supply's voltage to the two main ignition coil's that are bolted to the cylinder head. Probably the most simple way to set the points is to turn the crankshaft until the contact arm of the points is on the high point of the cam, then set the points at .020 with a feeler guage.
